ആരായിരുന്നു അയാൾ ?

2012 ൽ CSK ൽ ഒരു വിപ്ലവം ഉണ്ടായി അതിനു രണ്ട് പകുതി ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. 4 മുതൽ 8 വരെ ഏത് നമ്പറിലും കളിക്കാവുന്ന ഒരു കളിക്കാരൻ ഒപ്പം അവസാന ഓവറുകളിൽ ക്യാപ്റ്റന്റെ വിശ്വാസം കാത്തുകൊണ്ട് ബാറ്റിസ്മാന്മാരെ കുടുക്കുന്ന ഡെത് ബൗളർ ആ വിപ്ലവത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യ പകുതിയുടെ പേര് D J BRAVO.. കരീബിയൻ കരുത്തുള്ള ബാറ്റിസ്മനും ബുദ്ധികൂർമതയും കൃത്യതയും ഉള്ള ബൗളറും. രണ്ടാം പകുതിയും ഒരു ഓൾ റൗണ്ടർ തന്നെ… ഇന്ത്യൻ ടീമിന്റെ മധ്യ ഓവറുകളിൽ ധോണിക്കൊപ്പം മികച്ച കൂട്ടുകെട്ടുകൾ പടുത്തുയർത്തിയ ആ സ്പിൻ ആൾ റൗണ്ടറെയും ചെന്നൈ പാളയത്തിൽ എത്തിച്ചു.. അതായിരുന്നു രണ്ടാം പകുതി… രവീന്ദ്ര ജാഡേജ. അന്ന് മുതൽ ഇന്ന് വരെയും അവർ ടീമിന്റെ ഹീറോസ് ആയി… എന്നാൽ അവർക്കൊപ്പം മറ്റൊരാൾ കൂടി അന്ന് ചെന്നൈയിൽ എത്തി. 2011 വേൾഡ് കപ്പ്‌ തോൽവിക്ക് വധഭീഷണി നേരിട്ട ഒരു സൗത്ത് ആഫ്രിക്കക്കാരൻ. കാലിസും സ്മിത്തും അംലയും ഡിവില്ലിഴ്സും ഉള്ള ബാറ്റിംഗ് നിരയിൽ സ്ഥിര സാന്നിധ്യം ആയ ഒരാൾ. എന്നാൽ ആരും ശ്രെദ്ധിക്കാത്ത ഒരാൾ

എന്തായിരുന്നു അയാളുടെ റോൾ.. അയാളെ മനസിലാക്കാൻ ആദ്യ സീസൺ കൊണ്ട് ചെന്നൈക്കും ധോണിക്കും കഴിഞ്ഞു. ആദ്യ സീസണിൽ ഭൂരിഭാഗം മത്സരങ്ങളും കളിച്ച അയാൾ 400 നു അടുത്ത് റൺസ് നേടി.. എന്നാൽ പിന്നീട് അയാൾ ചെന്നൈ ടീമിൽ വന്നും പോയും നിന്നു.

അയാളെ ഒഴിവാക്കിയതായിരുന്നോ.? Csk യെ യും അവരുടെ പ്ലാനിങിനെയും അറിയുന്നവർ മറിച്ചു ചിന്തിക്കും..

4 വിദേശികളെ മാത്രം കളിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ടോപ് ലീഗിൽ ആവറേജ് എന്ന് റേറ്റ് ചെയ്യപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു ബാറ്റിസ്മാൻ ഒരുപാട് ഇന്ത്യൻ ബാറ്റിസ്മാൻമാർ ഉള്ളപ്പോൾ എന്തിന് എന്ന ചോദ്യം ചിലർക്ക് എങ്കിലും ഉണ്ടാവുമായിരിക്കും…

എന്നാൽ csk യുടെ ആദ്യ ചോയ്സ് ഡ്യൂപ്ലിസ്സി ആയിരുന്നു.. വലിയ മത്സരങ്ങളിൽ റൺസ് കണ്ടെത്താൻ അയാൾക്ക് പ്രത്യേക കഴിവായിരുന്നു.. അയാളെ പുറത്തിരുത്തി 4 വിദേശികളിൽ ടീമിന് വേണ്ട 3 പേരെ കണ്ടെത്തും… പ്ലേ ഓഫ്‌ അടുക്കുമ്പോൾ 4 ആമൻ ആയി ടീമിലെത്തി പ്രധാന കളികൾ കളിക്കും അതായിരുന്നു.. ടീമിൽ അയാൾ.. ഒളുപ്പിച്ചു വച്ച വജ്രായുധം..

ഇത് വെറുതെ വാദിക്കുന്നതാണ് എന്ന് ആരെങ്കിലും കരുതുന്നുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ..2018 താരാലേലം മാത്രമൊന്നു നോക്കിയാൽ മതി.. അയാളെ തിരികെ വെറും ഒന്നരക്കോടി രൂപയ്ക്ക് ആണ് ചെന്നൈതിരികെയെത്തിച്ചത്.

പഴയ അതെ പ്ലാനിൽ 2 വർഷം കൂടി അയാൾ കളിച്ചു.. എന്നാൽ 2018 ക്വാളിഫെയർ വണ്ണിൽ, ലോകത്തിന് അയാളുടെ കഴിവ് മനസിലായി.

ഫൈനലിന്റെ വാതിലുകൾക്ക് മുൻപിൽ ധോണിയുൾപ്പടെയുള്ളവർ കൂടാരം കയറി 66-6 ന്ന നിലയിൽ നിന്നപ്പോൾ.. ആരാധകരും കണ്ണ് നിറച്ചു. ടൂർണമെന്റിലെ ഏറ്റവും കരുത്തരായ ബൌളിംഗ് നിരയ്ക്കും അവരെ നയിക്കുന്ന ലോകോത്തര ക്യാപ്റ്റനും എതിരെ ഒരു സൂര്യൻ ഉദിച്ചു…
ഭുവനേശ്വർ കുമാറിന്റെ അവസാന ഓവറിലെ ആദ്യ പന്ത് ഗാലറിയിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അവിടെവെച്ചു.. അറിയാത്തവർ എല്ലാം മനസിലാക്കി തുടങ്ങി… അയാളും csk യുടെ അഭിഭാജ്യ ഘടകം ആണെന്ന്.

2020 ൽ പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ചെന്നൈ നിരയ്ക്ക് അയാളെ ഒളിപ്പിച്ചു വയ്ക്കാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.. ആദ്യ മത്സരം മുതൽ കളത്തിൽ ഇറങ്ങിയ അയാൾ ടീമിന്റെ തകർച്ചയിലും ടോപ് സ്കോറർ ആയി ലോകത്തിനു മുന്നിൽ തന്റെ ക്ലാസ്സ്‌ കാണിച്ചു കൊടുത്തു.

2021 ൽ മടങ്ങി വരുന്ന റൈനയും മൊയിൻ അലിയും ഒക്കെയായി പുതിയൊരു തുടക്കത്തിനൊരുങ്ങിയ ചെന്നൈയെ കാത്തിരുന്നത് PSL മത്സരത്തിൽ തലയ്ക്കു പരുക്ക് ഏറ്റ ഡ്യൂപ്ലിസി യുടെ വാർത്തയാരുന്നു…സഹ കളിക്കാരൻ ABD യുടെ മടക്കത്തിനു ശേഷം ഇന്റർനാഷണളിലും അയാൾ അപ്രതീക്ഷിതമായിതുടങ്ങി..

ഹൃദയം നടുങ്ങി.. അയാളുടെ ഓർമ നഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നു എന്ന വാർത്തകൾ വേദനയോടെ മാത്രം കെട്ടിരുന്നു.. കളിച്ചില്ലെങ്കിലും അയാൾക്ക് ഒന്നുമാവരുതേ എന്ന പ്രാർത്ഥന മാത്രം.

എന്നാൽ ഒരു ഫിനിക്സ് പക്ഷിയെപ്പോലെ ആയാൾ ഉണർന്നു വന്നു..2021 ൽ പുതിയ തുടക്കത്തിൽ ഒപ്പം നിന്നു.. സെറ്റിൽ ചെയ്ത് കളിക്കാൻ കൂടെയുള്ള യുവതാരത്തിനെ അനുവദിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് റൺ നിരക്ക് താഴാതെ കാത്തുസൂക്ഷിച്ചു.. സെഞ്ച്വറിയോളം വിലമതിക്കുന്ന ഒരുപാട് ഇന്നിങ്സുകൾ കളിച്ചു..കരിയറിന്റെ അവസാന പാദത്തിൽ ഒരു യുവതാരത്തിന്റ ലൈഫ് ടൈം ഫോമിൽ എന്നപോലെ അയാൾ ബാറ്റ് വീശി.. ഒരു സിക്സർന്റെ ദൂരത്തിൽ 2 മീറ്റർ കുറഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ അയാൾക് നഷ്ടമായത് ഐപിലിലെ ഓറഞ്ച് ക്യാപ് ആയിരുന്നു..*എന്നാൽ എനിക്കുറപ്പുണ്ട് അയാൾ അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ചിന്തിച്ചിട്ടുപോലുമുണ്ടാവില്ല.. കൂടെയുള്ള യുവതാരത്തിന് അത് ലഭിക്കുമ്പോൾ അതിൽ അയാൾ സന്തോഷം മാത്രം കണ്ടെത്തും.

ലേലത്തിൽ അയാളെ നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടപ്പോൾ ഉണ്ടായ സങ്കടം ചെറുതല്ല.. ആരാധകർക്ക് നൽകിയ വീഡിയോയിൽ അയാളുടെ മനസും മഞ്ഞക്കുപ്പായത്തിൽ നിന്ന് മാറാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല എന്ന് വ്യക്തമായിരുന്നു..
അതെ പത്തു വർഷങ്ങൾ കടന്നു പോയി. പ്രായവും ദീർഘകാലവും തുകയും മുന്നിൽ കണ്ട് പ്രഫഷണൽ ആയി കളിക്കുന്ന CSK പോലെ ഒരു ടീം ഫാഫിനു വേണ്ടി വൻ തുക മുടക്കാത്തത്തിൽ അത്ഭുതം ഇല്ല..

എന്നാൽ അയാളുടെ നഷ്ടം ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് വലുതാണ്.. സ്നേഹത്തോടെ അയാളെ ഫാഫ് എന്ന് വിളിച്ചു.. അയാളുടെ മനോഹര ഷോട്ടുകളെ ബിഗ് സ്ക്രീൻ ഫാബുലസ് എന്ന് വിശേഷിപ്പിച്ചു…

അതെ ചുവന്ന കുപ്പായത്തിൽ പുതിയ അധ്യായം തുടങ്ങാൻ പോകുന്ന ഞങ്ങളുടെ കോഹിനൂറിനു മംഗളങ്ങൾ നേരുന്നു.
ഇന്ന് അയാളോട് യാത്ര പറയുമ്പോൾ റൈനക്കു മുകളിൽ അയാളുടെ അഭാവം വേദനിപ്പിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ മനസിലാക്കുന്നു…

After an exciting IPL 2022 mega auction, it’s now time to get into business with the on-field action as the kick-off date for the 15th edition of the marquee tournament has officially been announced. It was earlier reported that the IPL 2022 would get underway on March 27. However, as per the latest reports,  it has now been learned that the tournament would get underway a day prior to the scheduled date.

According to reports, this year’s Indian Premier League is scheduled to get underway from March 26 and the decision regarding the same was taken at a meeting of the IPL Governing Council (GC) on February 24. This year’s cash-rich event would be a 10-team affair with the addition of two new franchises- Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans respectively. At the same time, it has also been learned that the schedule for the competition would be officially announced soon.

“The IPL will kick off on March 26, the full schedule will come soon. We will also have crowds but as per the policy of the Maharashtra government. Whether it will be 25 or 50 percent of the stadium capacity will be decided by the government instruction,” said IPL Chairman Brijesh Patel

Furthermore, it has been reported that the showpiece event would completely be organized in India itself after an improvement in the COVID-19 cases. Even though it was rumored that South Africa was one of the venues initially.  A total of 70 matches will be played in IPL 2022 including 55 in Mumbai and 15 in Pune across four venues- Wankhede Stadium, Brabourne, DY Patil, and the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) respectively.

As skipper Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid take to the drawing board to chalk out their plans looking ahead at this year’s World T20 in Australia, the two will have plenty of options to consider. While India is blessed with the luxury of some excellent cricketers within their set-up, it could sometimes also be looked at as a problem of plenty. However, there are a few cricketers who are often seen as being just a step ahead of the rest. With one such cricketer being Sanju Samson.

The Kerala-born cricketer, who burst onto the scene in 2013, playing for Rajasthan Royals at the IPL, has for long been touted as the next batting superstar. The latest to throw his weight behind the wicketkeeper-batter is none other than the Indian captain, Rohit Sharma. Sharma believes Samson has all that it takes to be a top cricketer, be it the talent or skills required, however, it is now up to the player to utilize it.

“Samson has got talent man, whenever you see him bat in the IPL, he has produced that innings where everyone goes over the moon watching that innings, he has got the skillset to succeed. That is the whole point about the sport, a lot of people have skill and talent, how you utilize it is the most critical part,” said Sharma during a press conference before the upcoming series against Sri Lanka.

“It is now up to Sanju Samson how he wants to use that talent and maximize it because as team management, we see a lot of potential and a lot of talent in that individual. I hope we give him that confidence whenever he gets an opportunity. He is definitely into consideration and that is why he is part of the team. His backfoot play is superb. When you go to Australia, you need that shot-making ability, Samson has it in him. I just hope he utilizes his potential.” he added.
